Why Choose the Power5 -HVAC program?

Northwest-Shoals Community College (NW-SCC) is excited to launch the first nationally-recognized competency-based HVAC apprenticeship program in Alabama. The Power5 HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) Apprenticeship Program at NW-SCC combines an Associate of Occupational Technology Degree (AOT) in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technology and two years of paid industry experience. This prepares students for a career in HVAC by synchronizing related technical instruction at NW-SCC and on-the-job training at a sponsoring local business. NW-SCC officially started the Power5 HVAC Apprenticeship Program in January 2020.
