Northwest-Shoals to host Special Open Registration for fall semester
July 23, 2019
MUSCLE SHOALS & PHIL CAMPBELL, ALA. -- Northwest-Shoals Community College (NW-SCC) will host a Special Open Registration on August 1, 2, and 3. Fall semester classes begin on Thursday, August 15.
According to NW-SCC President Dr. Glenda Colagross, the College wants to give prospective students with full-time jobs the same opportunity as traditional students. “Many of our students hold a full-time job while enrolled at the College,” said Colagross. “We want to make it as easy on them as we can to get their classes. Also, this will give them a chance to complete any other requirements prior to the start of the fall semester.”
NW-SCC will remain open until 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 1, and will open from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 3. During this time, NW-SCC will help new and current students apply and register for the fall semester. The night and weekend open registration will offer one-stop assistance in the registration process with admission to NW-SCC, course advising, financial aid, placement testing, and with payments through the cashier’s office.
On the Shoals Campus, the night and weekend open registration will take place in the Victor P. Poole Administration Building (building 100) with the exception of placement testing (held in building 127).
On the Phil Campbell Campus, night and weekend open registration will take place in the Wallace Administration Building (building 301).
For those who have not yet applied for admission to NW-SCC, they can apply online at nwscc.edu. Students who have not already applied for financial aid are encouraged to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) immediately. The FAFSA can be submitted online at www.fafsa.gov, and the NW-SCC school code is 005697.
