Apply or register now for Summer classes begin May 27, and fall classes begin August 19.

Northwest-Shoals Community College (NW-SCC) is working to make decisions that are in the best interests of the health, safety, and academic success of our students. For the convenience of our students, registration and advising for the summer and fall semesters will be conducted online and in-person.

We will be available for in-person appointments, email, phone and live chatrooms to meet your needs and answer any questions you may have about summer and fall registration. Faculty, staff, and administration will do their best to respond to all e-mailed questions on the same day.

How do I apply to NW-SCC?

Send your transcripts to the Office of Admissions.
*A copy of your driver’s license must be received before you can register for classes. You can email a copy to Admissions at admissions@nwscc.edu.
Once we receive all the required documents, you will officially be part of the Northwest-Shoals' Family.

You can schedule an Advising Session by emailing advising@nwscc.edu, or you can register for an advising session above! The Advising Team will do their best to respond to all e-mails on the same day.

How do I view Summer or Fall courses?

Click on NW-SCC Dynamic Schedule
Click on the dropdown menu under "Search by Term:"
Select Summer 2021 or Fall 2021 depending on the term you are interested in searching.
Fill in any other specifics you are searching for and click "Submit"

How do I register for classes?

Students must complete an application for admission and have their MY NW-SCC username and password to register.

Step 1: Go to MY NW-SCC. (Located near the middle of our homepage)

Step 2: Click the blue bubble that reads “Continue to MY NW-SCC (Banner)” and then select Login.

Step 3: Type your user ID and password, and click “Sign In.”

USER ID: You must use your NW-SCC email address as your username. If you do not know your NW-SCC email address, please contact admissions@nwscc.edu or call 256-331-5363 during business hours.
PASSWORD: Your password is !NWSmmddyy with the mmddyy being your birthdate. Be sure to include the exclamation point. For example, if your birthdate is May 30, 1999, your password would be !NWS053099.
RESET PASSWORD: If you need assistance resetting your password, please complete the Login Assistance Form. After you have submitted the form and received confirmation that your password has been reset, you must visit https://oneaccspw.accs.edu/authorization.do to set a permanent password. You will log in using your school email address and the default password !NWS + six-digit birthdate.

Step 4: Click the “Student” tab.

Step 5: Click the “Registration” tab.

Step 6: To register for class:

Click "Student" then click "Registration"
Click "Add or Drop Classes" and select the "Term" and click submit
List CRN in boxes below and click "Submit Changes" or follow procedure in Step 7 to do a "Class Search".

Step 7: To do a Class Search:

Click "Student" then click "Registration"
Click "Add or Drop Classes" and select the "Term" and click submit
Click "Advanced Search"
Select a "Subject" and "Campus"
Click "Section Search"
Select the check box in front of the Course Reference Number (CRN), and click "Register" at the bottom of the screen.
"C" in front of the CRN identifies a closed class.

Step 8: To drop a class:

Click on the drop down menu under the “Action” field.
Select “Web Drop” from the drop down menu. This screen will assist with any registration errors. The red circle with an “X” indicates a registration error. Search for a new class or speak with your advisor.
Once the drop/add period has ended, students are required to come to the Admissions Office to withdraw from a class. Students must obtain a signature from the Financial Aid Office and their Instructor/Advisor to withdraw completely from all classes.

Step 9: To print a schedule:

Under the “Registration” tab, click “Concise Student Schedule.”
With the schedule showing, right click and print.
