Articulated Credit

 

Articulation

A planned process that allows a high school student the opportunity to progress from secondary to postsecondary in a sequential manner without duplication or instruction for skills and theory received at the high school level.  Students may receive up to one semester of postsecondary course credit for skills and theory received at another school.

How to Receive Transfer Credit

1.  Complete an application for admission to NW-SCC.

2.  Request your high school transcript be sent to NW-SCC.

3.  Schedule your ASSET/COMPASS.  This is not a pass/fail test.  They determine your math and English level for course placement.

4.  Request documentation of completed tasks and courses taken at vocational technology centers be sent to the Occupational Instructor of your program at NW-SCC.

5.  Schedule an advising appointment with the NW-SCC Occupational Instructor and obtain a schedule.

6.  Register in Multipurpose Building (GYM) on Open Registration day.

 

The following programs do not require a high school diploma or GED certificate for admission.  Students must be a least 16 years of age to enroll.  Students without a GED are encouraged to enroll in classes to obtain this diploma while in the program.

  • Auto Body Repair

  • Auto Mechanics

  • Carpentry / Cabinetmaking

  • Cosmetology / Esthetics / Nail Technology

  • Machine Tool / CNC

  • Upholstery
