Data Entry Technician

The Data Entry Technician is responsible for keying data into the computer.  The Data Entry Technician should be a detail oriented individual that accepts the responsibilities for data input, various clerical duties, and filing.  The Data Entry Technician should be proficient in Word, Excel, and Access.  Depending upon the company, the Data Entry Technician might also need to meet other specific requirements.  There might be a specific typing speed that is required or knowledge of a different database management system.

Regardless of the type of system used to enter data, proofreading is an essential responsibility of the Data Entry Technician.  The information that they process should be practically error free.
