Computer Technicians
The Computer Technician should possess knowledge in core hardware and operating system technologies including installation, configuration, diagnosing, preventive maintenance and basic networking. The Computer Technician should know the operating system fundamentals and be able to upgrade the software if necessary. The Computer Technician should also be able to diagnose and troubleshoot hardware as well as networks. The Computer Technician should practice preventive maintenance to all hardware components: motherboard, processors, memory, printers, and storage devices.
The Computer Technician builds, installs, tests, evaluates and maintains electronic equipment. Working in areas such as field service, sales and manufacturing, computer technicians may use specialized test equipment, PC hardware and software, systems documentation and schematics, as well as basic hand and power tools.
