Adjunct Faculty Positions
➤NW-SCC is accepting applications for adjunct (part-time) instructors in the following areas:
- Industrial Maintenance
➤Math Tutors / Lab Assistants
NW-SCC is seeking applicants to apply for Math Lab Tutor position(s) on the Shoals and Phil Campbell campuses. Applicants enrolled at NW-SCC or other colleges, as well as those who have earned an associate's or bachelor's degree, are encouraged to apply. Work hours will vary and range from 10-19 hours per week. The pay scale ranges from $8.00 to $15.00 per hour. Please contact the Human Resources department to fill out an application. EMPLOYMENT APPLICATION PROCESS
When a position is available at NW-SCC, applicants must submit a complete application package in order to receive full consideration for employment. The application package consists of:
a COMPLETED and SIGNED NW-SCC Employment Application.
a current resume.
a complete transcript from every institution from which any collegiate credit has been earned (if applicable)
a letter of employment verification (if applicable)
Full Time PositionsAnyone interested in applying for a full-time Faculty or Administrative / Staff position must submit a complete application packet. Complete application packets must be submitted by the deadline established for that position. Failure to submit a complete application packet by the deadline will eliminate the possibility of an interview.
Search committees are appointed for each full-time available position. The search committee reviews all application packets to determine which are complete and who meets the minimum qualifications for the position. The committee then interviews each qualified applicant and recommends the top three candidates to the President / Appropriate Administrator, who conducts the final interviews.
Adjunct Faculty PositionsUpon receipt of all your official transcripts, we will forward your application materials to the appropriate academic department for evaluation of your credentials and experience. Should an adjunct instructor position become available, one of our Deans or lead Faculty members may contact you for an interview. Before completing an application, please make sure that you meet the minimun qualifications:
If you would like to teach at the associate degree level, you must have a Master's Degree with 18 graduate semester hours in an instructional discipline offered at Northwest-Shoals Community College.
If you would like to teach in professional, occupational and technical programs not usually resulting in college transfer, you must have an Associate Degree in the assigned teaching area or equivalent (at least 60 semester hours in a planned program including associate degree core).
Part-Time Hourly PositionsAll applications will be forwarded to the appropriate personnel. He/she may or may not interview for the position. All unsuccessful applicants will be notified by letter that the position has been filled.
