What are the hours of the Competency Testing Center?
The Shoals campus Competency Testing Center is open daily... (Students must have an appointment!!) Monday through Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., and 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday - 8:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday - by appointment only. The Phil Campbell campus Competency Testing Center will be open by appointment only. Competency Testing Center hours are subject to change.
How do I schedule an exam?
For the Shoals Campus, call the Competency Testing Center (256) 331-5482 at least two working days in advance to request an exam. For the Phil Campbell Campus call the Competency Testing Center (256)331-5482 at least five working days in advance to request an exam.
When should I schedule an exam?
Examinations should be requested after all preceding required assignments listed on your course syllabus have been completed. Please refer to your specific course syllabus to determine when to request your exams.
What do I need to bring to the lab to take a test?
Please bring your student identification card to the Competency Testing Center in order to identify yourself as a distance education student and to receive the correct exam.
What is not allowed in the lab during a test?
Do not bring beepers, cell phones, food, drinks, children, or friends to the Competency Testing Center with you when you report to take an exam.
Can I take more than one test at a time?
A student will not be allowed to take more than one exam at a time for the same distance education course, so please examine your course syllabus carefully and plan/manage your time in order to space your examinations out during the semester
