Videoconference Courses
The videoconferenceing system is a network of classrooms connected by compressed-video technology. The classrooms are equipped with cameras, monitors, and other equipment that allows teachers and students to interact as if they are in the same room. Instructors can use traditional visuals, such as slides and videos. Tuition and registration for videoconference courses is the same as for on-campus courses.

Web Courses
NW-SCC offers internet-based, online instruction that features courses delivered over the web directly to the student's home or corporate desktop. Students receive instruction, interact with instructors, and complete lessons via Blackboard and e-mail. Students register for web courses during the regular registration period, pay the same tuition, have access to the same student services, and receive the same credit.

TeleWeb Courses
NW-SCC offers numerous teleweb courses that are a combination of online assignments and video instruction. Students will need access to both a computer and a DVD player in order to complete course assignments. Students register for teleweb courses druing the regular registration period, pay the same tuition, have access to the same student services, and receive the same credit.

Blended Courses
These courses require students to come on-campus for certain activities such as labs, presentations, or speeches. Students complete the lecture portion of the class without coming to campus.

Is tuition different for Distance Edcuation courses?
Total tuition and fees for summer semester 2009 will be $90 per semester hour. This is a $270 charge for a 3-credit- hour course and a $360 charge for a 4-credit-hour course.

How do I register for Distance Education courses?
Registration is the same for both on-campus and Distance Edcuation courses.If you are a previously enrolled student, you may register online during the allocated times to register during an on-campus registration session.

Do student have to come on-campus for anything?
Yes. Most distance courses require on-campus exams and may require an on-campus meeting.

How are exams administered?
Most distance course exams are administered in the on-campus testing centers. The testing centers are available on both campuses and have flexible hours to accomodate student needs. Click here for additional information regarding NW-SCC's testing centers.
