Cyber Advisor

Northwest-Shoals is proud to offer personal academic advice to our students. The purpose of an academic advisor is to help students select courses that will meet their goals. Some students want to take a course for personal experience and do not care if they receive a grade or if the course transfers.
Our CyberAdvisor will assist you with general questions.

  • If you have general college questions, please email cookson@nwscc.edu. If we don't know the answer, we will connect you with the right person!
  • If you have questions regarding which classes you should take, please contact Malea Milstead in our Advising Center.

The STARS System allows public two-year students in Alabama to obtain a Transfer Guide/Agreement for the major of their choice. This guide/agreement, if used correctly, guides the student through their first two years of coursework and prevents loss of credit hours upon transfer to the appropriate public four-year university in Alabama.

Students have access to an entire team of support other than an advisor.

Financial Aid00 For questions about scholarships or federal financial aid.

Career Center 00 For information about possible jobs in our area.

The STARS System00 To obtain a contract from a university to guarantee that your courses will transfer.

Advisors00 To get answers to questions about a particular class.
