Teresa Roberson CIS Instructor Information Teresa Roberson is the oldest of six children. She graduated from Lexington High School and went to the University of North Alabama, where she completed a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Business Education. She continued her graduate studies at Memphis State University and the University of North Alabama. She received a Masters Degree in Business Education with extra graduate hours in Computer Information Systems. Ms. Roberson worked in private business as a Systems Analyst/Programmer for approximately 11 years before starting her teaching career at Northwest-Shoals Community College (Formerly Muscle Shoals Tech). She teaches both on campus and distance education courses in the CIS curriculum. Ms. Roberson is a member of American Association of University Women, Shoals Education Association, Alabama Education Association, and National Education Association. She is the pianist at Harrison Chapel Church in Killen, Alabama. She has been nominated by former students and had her biography published in Who's Who Among America's Teachers several times. She was selected as Outstanding Instructor by the Academic Council and Presidents Council of NWSCC in 2003. She is an honored member of the Empire Who's Who Executives and Professionals for 2004. She was nominated for the Class of 2005 Chancellors Award for Outstanding Technical Faculty Member of NWSCC. She was elected Outstanding Distance Education Faculty Member of NWSCC in 2008. She serves on several committees at NWSCC. In her spare time, Ms. Roberson enjoys activities with her family. She is married to Larry Roberson and they have two children: Ryan and Rhet. Larry has a Master's degree in Special Education and teaches in Ethridge, Tennessee. Ryan is a Social Studies teacher at Brooks High School.. Rhet is is freshman at Brooks High School. Hobbies and activities enjoyed by Ms. Roberson include crocheting, cross stitching, quilting, walking, tennis, traveling, ping pong, and reading.
