Notes on Stewart: Travis was another Patriot that was a heavily recruited athlete along the east coast.  Travis chose Northwest-Shoals over several 4-year institutions and other junior colleges.  Travis stands 6’5 and weighs 225 pounds and is another two-way player that the Patriots will feature this year.  Travis has a fastball that has been clocked in the low 90’s and is working hard to become a complete pitcher.  He will also see time at first-base and will also work as a DH.  Travis prepped at Pallotti  High School in Maryland and led his team to Back to Back State Championships. He was the winning pitcher in the State Championship game both as a junior and senior.  As a junior his team had a perfect 24-0 record.  As a senior, Travis was 10-3 with a 2.32 ERA including 121 K’s and 8 complete games.  Offensively he hit 424% with 17 2B’s, 7 HR and 38 RBI’s.  He was awarded by being named Washington Post All Metro, All County, County Player of the Year, Team MVP and Team Captain.  Travis also played basketball and football in high school.

Langston on Stewart: “The state of Maryland has been very good to our baseball program and Travis has a chance to be one of the best players that we have had since I have been the coach here.  He has a lot of ability and will have the opportunity to play at a very high level when he finishes his career at Northwest-Shoals.”
