Notes on Sessions: Joel has been one of the top high school pitchers in the Shoals area for the past couple of years. He was recruited by several schools and the Patriots were fortunate that he chose to stay close to home to continue his baseball career and education. Joel is another of the very talented pitching prospects that NWSCC was able to land with this recruiting class. Sessions stands 6’4 and has an above average fastball that has a lot of movement. He is working to develop his off speed pitches and working to improve his control. Joel also played in the Northwest-Shoals High School Fall League and was a member of the Shoals American Legion team that won the State Championship. Joel made the Alabama Coaches Underclassmen Showcase team following his sophomore and junior year. Sessions prepped at Muscle Shoals High School in Muscle Shoals, AL. As a senior, Joel was 10-2 with a 1.51 ERA including 87 K’s to only 13 BB’s. He led his team to the 5A state playoffs and was selected as an All-Area and All-State selection. Joel is a great student and is pursuing a degree in Pharmacy.

I have been able to coach Joel over the past couple of years during the summer. He has continued to make progress each year and made a lot of improvement as the fall went on. It will be exciting to see how far he has progressed this time next year”.
