Notes on Fowler: NWSCC has made it a tradition to sign athletes from tradition rich Deshler High School. As a senior, Matt and teammate Shawn Herring helped lad Deshler to the 4A State Championship game.  As a senior Matt hit 429% with 12 2B, 5 HR and 42 RBI’s.  He also worked as Deshler’s number two pitcher and pitched in the state championship game.  Matt will have the opportunity to be a dual player for the Patriots.  He will mostly be used in middle relief and is battling for one of the corner outfield spots.  Matt has a fastball that sits around 84-85 and does a great job of mixing his pitches.  He had a very good fall and has put himself into a position to contribute as a freshman.  Matt played for Jae Lockett at Deshler High School in Tuscumbia, Alabama.  Matt is the young brother of Patriots assistant coach Josh Fowler.

Langston on Fowler: “Matt has grown up around our program and has a good idea of how we want things done.  He is a winner and winners always find a way to get it done.”
