Notes on Edwards: Taylor had an unbelievable freshman campaign for the Patriots last year.  He pitched game 1 of every conference week and finished the regular season at 8-0. TA throws 3 pitches for strikes with pin point control.  His biggest attribute is his competitiveness while on the mound.  He is the type of guys that toes the rubber and gets after the opponent.  The last week of the regular season Taylor threw dramatic back to back shutouts against Calhoun to clinch the Conference Championship for the Patriots. TA had Tommy John surgery in September and will take a medical red- shirt this year.  He will return next year as a red-shirt sophomore and will help lead a very talented staff.  Taylor prepped at Pleasant Grove High School in Alabama.  He pitched and played third-base for the Spartans and was also the quarterback of the football team.

Langston on Edwards: Taylor’s pitching performance against Calhoun to end the season was one of the best pitching performances I have ever seen.  He threw an 8 inning, 4 hit, complete game shut- out in which we won 1-0, to win the Conference Championship.  He also threw a complete game shut- out earlier in the week against the same team.”
