The Patriots of Northwest-Shoals are well established as leaders among Alabama intercollegiate athletes. The college holds numerous championship titles in the Alabama Junior and Community College Conference, comprising Region XXII of the National Junior College Athletic Association.

Great traditions exist with teams in volleyball, men and women’s basketball, tennis and baseball all having competed in national tournaments for America’s two-year college championships.

The Patriot program now fields eight (8) intercollegiate sports teams and cheerleaders. Varsity teams are sponsored in men’s basketball, baseball, golf and cross country along with women’s varsity teams in volleyball, basketball, fast-pitch softball and tennis.
