NW-SCC Associate Degree Nursing Program

Entry Level Minimum Requirement Checklist

Effective Fall 2006

 

Submission of Northwest-Shoals Community College Application by April 1 for the 2008-2009 academic year.

 

A Completed Application Must Include the Following Items:

1.  Completed NW-SCC Application for Admission

2.  Completed Nursing Program Application

3.  All High School Transcripts or GED

4.  All College Transcripts

5.  A score of 76 or higher on the COMPASS Reading Examination (or related ACT
     Reading Score of 17 or higher) current within three years of application deadline.

If previously or currently enrolled at NW-SCC, academically in good standing.

A minimum of 2.50 cumulative GPA for students with previous college work.

A minimum of 2.50 high school GPA for students without prior college work (GED acceptable in lieu of high school transcript).

Eligibility for BIO 201 (Human Anatomy & Physiology).

Eligibility for ENG 101 (English Composition I).

Eligibility for MTH 116, MTH100 or higher level math.

Meeting the essential functions or technical standards required for nursing.

A score of 76 or higher on the COMPASS Reading Examination (or related ACT Reading Score of 17 or higher) current within three years of application deadline.

Submission of ADN application by April 1 deadline for the 2008-2009 academic year. 

Admission to the Associate Degree Nursing Program is competitive, and the number of students is limited by the number of faculty and clinical facilities available.  Meeting minimal requirements does not guarantee acceptance.
